Survey shows that Pinoys aren't Happy with Robredo

Vice President Leni Robredo and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo both saw a drop in their satisfaction ratings, results of a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed Tuesday.

The December 2018 survey found that Robredo's net satisfaction rating fell to a "moderate" +27 from a "good" +34 in September, while Arroyo's rating dropped to "poor" at -21 from a "neutral" -4.

Some 53 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Robredo's performance while 26 percent were dissatisfied, SWS said.

In Arroyo's case, SWS said only 28 percent were satisfied with the former president's performance while 49 percent were dissatisfied.

The polling agency attributed the decline in the vice president's rating to decreases on her satisfaction rating in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon and Mindanao.

She, however, saw a 9-point increase in her rating in Visayas to a "very good" +48 from a "very good" +39 in September 2018.

Like Robredo, SWS said the drop in Arroyo's rating could be attributed to decreases in her ratings in all areas, particularly Visayas where she saw a 23-point decline.

SOTTO'S 'VERY GOOD' RATING AND BERSAMIN'S 'MODERATE' RATING

Senate President Vicente Sotto III, meanwhile, maintained a "very good" +61 net satisfaction rating while Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin received a "moderate" +11 for his first net satisfaction rating as top magistrate.

Sotto saw a 6-point increase in his rating to a "very good" +61 from a "very good" +55 in September 2018.

This is equivalent to 72 percent of adult Filipinos who were satisfied with his performance and 11 percent dissatisfied.

SWS attributed the rise in Sotto's overall satisfaction rating to increases in his rating across Metro Manila, Mindanao, and Visayas.

On the other hand, the survey found that 36 percent were satisfied with Bersamin's performance as head of the Supreme Court, while 25 percent were dissatisfied.

SWS said Bersamin received the highest rating in Balance Luzon, followed by Visayas, Metro Manila, and Mindanao respectively.

It can be recalled that the 69-year-old Bersamin assumed the top judiciary post in November 2018 following the retirement of Teresita Leonardo-De Castro.

The December 2018 SWS survey was conducted from Dec. 16 to 19, 2018 using face-to-face interviews with 1,440 adults.
