Showbiz personality Kris Aquino has apologized to former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II for the time when she claimed that Roxas' wife, Korina Sanchez, was the reason why he lost to then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in the 2016 elections.
The youngest sister of former President Benigno Aquino III was referring to the incident in which she said a mouthful after Sanchez featured Kris' ex-husband James Yap, his girlfriend Michaela and their son Michael in her television show.
The feature was aired while Kris and Yap were at odds due to his alleged neglect of his responsibilities to their son Bimby.
“Nagselos ako because I felt Noy chose you over me. I hope we can let bygones be bygones,” Kris told Roxas after the commemoration of the 36th death anniversary of Kris and Noynoy's father, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr.
Roxas said, "Always, always."

This came months after Aquino chided Roxas’ campaign manager for supposedly blaming her older brother for the former Cabinet Secretary’s defeat in the 2016 presidential elections.
“Please join me and let’s take a picture so Noy sees it,” Aquino told Roxas, referring to her older brother, former President Benigno S. Aquino III.

Kris then went on to apologize to Roxas' mother, Judy Araneta-Roxas, a godmother.
“Baka ho hindi niyo alam [ang] mommy niya (Roxas), ninang ko sa binyag and she was really so good to me,” she said.
“Tell Ninang Judy, I’m also sorry,” she added to which Roxas responded with a nod and said: “No problem.”
"Siyempre naman," Roxas said before hugging Kris.

Still, Kris said she still could not be friends with one of Roxas' friends, whom she described as one who looked like a goon.
